<p>This shows how powerfull black and white images can be.  I think it would have been different if you added one rose in colour and the other in black and white.  Good detail.  Very nice.</p>

<p>For Star Wars fans everywhere.  This is a great shot, simple and effective. Black and white gives it extra depth.  Personally I prefer black and white to colour.  As you can tell I am going through your photo&#039;s for inspiration, as they are really well presented.  Any advice would be greatfully received.  I only have a few on my page so far, but the more I learn hopefully the better my photos will be.</p>

<p>Great pose! In regards to your question, I think high contrast is something that a lot of new/beginning photographers just discover and play with on their own. Contast is something that comes natural in the sense that we might not know the reason WHY something looks good with more contrast, but we do know that it looks better than it did before.</p>
